A North Carolinian through and through, I discovered my passion for journalism first as a high schooler on the Outer Banks and then sharpened it as an editing and graphic design major in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – a little place I like to refer to as the “southern part of heaven.” Toward the end of my college career, I expanded my journalism interests and become enamored with the rapidly expanding world of social media and online marketing.

In order to graduate from Carolina with the most comprehensive journalism degree available, I supplemented my education through various internships, whether it was at my summer internship with Access Design and Print in Kitty Hawk, NC, or as an interactive marketing intern with 3 Birds Marketing in Chapel Hill. After graduation I moved to Washington, DC, and began working as an account manager for RepEquity, an online brand management company specializing in search, social media, web and mobile development and analytics. I enjoy that my job allows me to interact with clients from a variety of fields and gives me the chance to work closely with our design, development and SEO teams to meet our clients’ needs. The ping pong table in the break room doesn’t hurt either.
