Outer Banks Brewing Station Wind Turbine Project

For my infographics class in the fall of 2010, our teacher announced that our first project would be on wind turbines. I immediately began designing my graphic around the Outer Banks Brewing Station, America’s first wind-powered brew pub and my primary employer from the time I was 15 until I moved to Chapel Hill for college and various summers after that. My infographic shows how the constant wind on the Outer Banks is turned first into electricity and then how the electricity is used to make the beer you drink. This project was very popular with the restaurant’s owners and a large poster of this graphic now hangs on the wall. I also reconfigured the graphic to allow it to be placed adjacent to the restaurant’s vertical beer lists, which are displayed on each table.
